When the wright brothers got into aerodynamics and airplanes there was already a body of experimental data existed. They also had an engine but it was not good enough for the wright brothers. They also built all there own modles from scratch and did not copy others designs they were original. For there airplane the brothers needed a special engine they tried to get one made but everyone they asked would not make the engine so they had to make it them self. they were they first one to successfully fly the first airplane.
