The Poor Jews

"Holocaust" is a Greek word which means "sacrifice by fire." The Nazis came to power of Germany in 1933. The thought they were better than everyone else and thought that everyone else would just weaken the German Race. The Nazis would go after groups such as: The Jews, the gypsies, the disabled, the slovic race, and gay people. Before the Nazis started killing all the jews, there were over 9 million of them. But by 1945, the Nazis killed 2 out of every 3 jews. The Germans also killed almost 3 million Soviet Prisoners of War.
On April 1, 1933, the Nazis made their first action against German Jews by announcing a boycott of all Jewish-run businesses.
After World War II started in 1939, the Nazis made the Jews wear a big yellow star on their clothing so that Jews could be easily recognized and targeted.
The concentration camps they had for jews were way messed up. They killed jews by the hundreds like it was nothing. More people died in just the one concentration camp "Auschwitz" than the British and American losses of World War Two combined.
A total of 1.1 million people died during the four and a half years of Auschwitz's existence; one million of them were Jewish men, women and children.
