Motor Torpedo Boat PT-59 was a PT Boat that served with the US Army in Word War ll. PT-59 had a checkered history, as it had only been involved in a single action when it had accidentally fired a torpedo into a friendly supply ship that was called USS Capella, causing injuries but no deaths. Kennedy took command over PT-59. The PT-59 had her torpedo tubes removed and was converted into a gunboat. But one day the PT-59 ran out of gas and and have to be towed by PT-236. On that action a marine died that night.
