The Goshutes once numbered 20,000. Now fewer than 500 remain on the Skull Valley Reservation. They are able to continue living the lifestyle their ancestors did but in a poorer and more restrained way. One reason is because of problems with alcohol. Because of the their genes Native Americans easily become alcoholics in fact, Native Americans have the highest alcoholism rate out of all the ethnic groups in America. This leads them to spend most of thier money on alcohol and become very poor.
