On September 26, 1960, at 9:30 P.M. everyone sat down and watched the elections on television. So here we have our Prince vs. the Popper. JFK wealthy, catholic from Massachusetts vs. Republican, quaker from Cali. So they battle it out pretty neck to neck. Kennedy had been looked down upon for being catholic he takes a chance and issue a speech and stand up say this will not influence that no catholic will tell him how to act.
