The Goshute Indians were highly efficient hunters and gatherers. They handled living in the desert very well. They gathered their food without hurting environment so they could always gather more from their homeland. They harvested and cultivated seeds from many species. They used over 81 species of vegetables. They were always skilled and efficient in their use of wild plants and they took up farming as early as the 1860's.
