Civil Rights of 1964

The begin of Civil Rights of 1964 was just waiting for one mans timing. President Kennedy was about to introduce quite a issue. Thank goodness for George Wallace he opened the door invited us right in.He stood on June 11, 1963, blocking two African Americans from enrolling in the University of Alabama. Man this man was presistent he didn't move until the state marshall came. That look real good for a Alabama Govenor. Then another terrible but even that got us moving was the death of a white segregationist Medgar Evers killed she was a civil rights activist. So our man Kennedy seized the opportunity and announced his civil right bill. He stood up later that day and spoke to Americans about a "moral issue... as old as teh scriptures and as clear as the American Constitution." Well done Kennedy well done. Dr. King knew there would be a fight with congress on the matter. So he decided to be lofty and build some public support. All races flocked to the nation's capital over 200,000 demonstrators this built the momentum for the civil rights. Yet congress tried to stop it OF COURSE! They filibustered but cloture happened. Then with the assassination of Kennedy we thought it was over. But Johnson took a stand and pushed for it. Johnson later signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 inot law. That a boy Johnson. So their the Civil Rights of 1964.
